worship & Production ministry
"Because your love is better than life, my lips will glorify you. i will praise you as long as i live, and in your name i will lift up my hands."
"Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts."
"Worship the LORD with gladness; come before him with joyful songs. Know that the LORD is God. It is he who made us, and we are his ; we are his people, the sheep of his pasture. Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name."
All vocalists are responsible for memorizing lyrics, developing appropriate body language, and learning a variety of harmony parts. We use multitracks and in-ear monitors, which may be unfamiliar to some newer team members, but with a little time, you'll catch right up.
Background vocalists (BGVs) and musicians are still considered worship leaders on this team. Whether you're leading a song or playing an instrument, you are leading our congregation in worship. We believe outward worship is an overflow of inward worship. Our team worships in private so we can lead worship in public.
Musicians should be prepared to play each song as close to the studio recording as possible prior to Thursday's rehearsal. We practice at home, so we can rehearse efficiently as a team. We use multitracks, click tracks and in-ear monitors. If you're unfamiliar with any of those terms, you'll catch up in no time with a little practice.
Everyone on the platform, including musicians, are considered worship leaders on this team. Whether you're leading a song or playing an instrument, you are leading our congregation in worship. We expect our musicians to passionately sing along and lead well even if they're not behind a microphone.
Our production team includes audio engineers, lighting technicians, camera operators and propresenter service runners. Our production and worship areas are considered one team at New Horizon. We believe that our team in the booth plays an equally important role in leading the congregation in worship at a weekend service.
Each of these positions are accessible enough to train those with an aptitude to learn, regardless of previous experience. Technological experience is not required to be on this team, although those with experience may have a brief learning curve.
"Sing to Him a new song;
Play skillfully with a shout of joy."
